WELCOME
Here at the Baptist Home, we pride ourselves in providing Compassionate Care for our Residents and Their Families.
Our roots date back to the opening of the original Baptist Home in 1869 in Brooklyn, New York. Two inspired members of a Baptist church in Brooklyn, Alexander MacDonald and Francis Macon, donated the funds and the energy to establish the Home. Eventually, the community around the Home in Brooklyn became less of a desirable place for senior citizens, and a search began for a quieter and more secure location. The Board of Directors worked with Baptist churches in the Hudson Valley and acquired a seventy-five acre parcel of land from the former Brookmeade Estate in Rhinebeck.
Our present 120 bed facility located on the edge of the historic and beautiful village of Rhinebeck, NY opened in 1977. The founding ideals of caring for our Residents, providing quality services and connecting with the community remain strong with The Baptist Home today. Although our heritage has a Baptist affiliated background, our residents come from a wide variety of different faiths as well as non-faith backgrounds.
The Baptist Home is the proud sponsor of the development of our sister communities, Arbor Ridge and The Terraces. Both communities share our campus and offer independent retirement living and assisted living for people aged 62 or above.
